Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Caloi Explorer Sport 2021. I’d been eyeing it for a while, you know, reading reviews, watching videos, the whole shebang. Needed a decent bike for some weekend trail riding, nothing too crazy, but something that wouldn’t fall apart on me.

First thing I did was, obviously, unbox it. It came mostly assembled, which was a relief. I’m not exactly a master mechanic. I just had to attach the handlebars, the front wheel, and the pedals. Pretty straightforward stuff, even for a klutz like me.
Getting it all together:
- Handlebars: This was simple. Just slide it in, tighten the bolts. Boom, done.
- Front Wheel: This one needed the quick-release skewer. I fumbled with it for a bit, watched a quick video, and then click, it was in.
- Pedals: Remember, the left pedal tightens counter-clockwise! Almost messed that up, but caught myself just in time.
After getting it assembled, I pumped up the tires. They were a little low, which is expected. Grabbed my trusty pump and got them up to the recommended pressure. I always double-check with a pressure gauge, gotta be precise, you know?
Next, I took it for a spin around the block. Just a quick test ride to make sure everything was working right. Brakes felt good, gears shifted smoothly. No weird noises or anything. So far, so good!
First Real Ride!
Took it out to the local trail on Saturday. Nothing too technical, just some dirt paths and a few small hills. The bike handled it like a champ! Felt really stable, even on the looser gravel sections. The suspension fork definitely helped smooth out the bumps.
I played around with the gears a bit, getting a feel for the different settings. Seemed to find the right gear for pretty much every situation. Climbing was easier than I expected, and going downhill felt nice and controlled.

One thing I noticed, the seat’s a little hard. Might need to swap that out for something more comfortable, especially for longer rides. But overall? Super happy with the bike. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Feels solid, rides well, and didn’t break the bank.
Planning another ride for next weekend. Maybe something a little more challenging this time. I will let everyone knows!
