Okay, so today I decided to get back on the court and play some volleyball. It’s been a while, and I was a little rusty, to say the least.

Getting Started
First thing, I gathered my gear. I found my old knee pads – definitely needed those. Grabbed a volleyball from the garage, pumped it up, and headed out.
The Warm-up
I started with some basic stretches. You know, the usual arm circles, leg swings, trying not to pull anything. Then, I practiced some simple bumping and setting against a wall. My form was… questionable, but hey, I was getting the feel for it again.
Playing the Game
I met up with a few friends at the park. We divided into teams, and it was on! The first few points were rough. I missed a couple of easy bumps, and my serves were… well, let’s just say they weren’t exactly going over the net consistently.
- I shanked a few balls.
- I whiffed on a spike attempt (embarrassing!).
- I definitely got blocked a couple of times.
But, slowly but surely, I started to get my groove back. I made a few decent sets, landed a couple of serves, and even managed to get a kill or two! It felt good to be moving, diving for balls, and getting that satisfying thwack when you make a good hit.
Game, Set, Match
We played for a couple of hours, and honestly, it was a blast. We weren’t keeping score, but we yelled, we laughed, it was that spirit of the game. We weren’t professionals, but we were having fun. And that’s what it’s all about, right?
And That’s * is how i spent this afternoon, and that is how i played and got the “game, set, match” feeling.
