Okay, so today I wanted to really understand what “game point” means in volleyball. I’ve watched a few games, but I wasn’t totally clear on it, so I decided to do some digging and playing around.

Figuring Out Game Point
First, I looked up the basic rules. It seemed simple enough – game point is when one team is one point away from winning the set. But I wanted to see it in action, so I did some experimenting.
Experiencing The Game Point Myself
Then, I found a volleyball and had some volleyball with friends, I started playing volleyball with two of them and we played several rounds.
- We divided into two groups(team A and team B), and started a rally.
- Team A served, I was in team B, I blocked the ball, and it landed on team A’s court.
- Team B scored and the ball was still in team A’s court, and they failed to get the ball.
- We kept going, and at a particular time, team B reached 24 scores.
At this point, I felt it was exciting, finally, team B won the game after one last score from us, and I realized how important to get every game point in volleyball.
My Takeaway
It’s pretty clear now. Game point isn’t just a number; it’s that tense moment where everything is on the line. One good serve, one strong spike, or one lucky block can seal the deal. It’s the most exciting part of the game!
