Okay, so I’ve been wanting a pink sport shirt for a while now. I finally decided to just go for it and make one myself. Here’s how the whole thing went down.

Finding the Right Fabric
First, I needed the fabric. I wanted something, you know, sporty, but also, it had to be pink. I hit up a few local fabric stores.
- The first place had some pink, but it was all, like, baby pink. Not what I was going for.
- The second store had a better selection of colors but nothing that screamed “sporty.” It was all cotton and stuff.
- Finally, I went into this tiny store, and bingo! they had this perfect, almost neon, pink performance fabric. It was lightweight and felt like it would breathe well. I grabbed a couple of yards.
Choosing a Pattern (or Not!)
Next step, the pattern. Honestly, I tried looking for a simple sport shirt pattern online. I found a few, but they were either too complicated or just not my style. After getting a little frustrated. I Just decided to wing it!
I took one of my favorite-fitting t-shirts and laid it out on the fabric. I carefully traced around it with some chalk, adding about half an inch all around for seam allowance.
I did this for the front, back, and sleeves.
Sewing It All Together
This is where things got a bit interesting. I dusted off my old sewing machine. I threaded it up, and slowly started stitching the pieces together.

First, I sewed the shoulder seams, then I attached the sleeves. after that, I sewed up the sides. The trickiest part was the neckline. I ended up using a simple folded hem, which took a few tries to get right. I was getting a lot of mistakes but managed to fix most of them.
The Final Result
After a few hours, and a lot of unpicking and re-sewing, I finally had a finished shirt! It’s not perfect, the seams aren’t exactly professional-looking, but you know what? I made it. It’s my very own, super bright, pink sport shirt, And I’m pretty proud of how it turned out, flaws and all!
I wore it to the gym the next day, and it felt great.
It was super comfortable.
Mission accomplished!
