Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Air Arms Pro Sport in Walnut. I’ve been wanting one of these for ages, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait! But, the journey to getting it shooting just right wasn’t exactly straightforward.

Unboxing and First Impressions
First things first, the unboxing. It came well-packaged, no dings or scratches. The walnut stock is gorgeous. Seriously, the pictures online don’t do it justice. The checkering felt great, and the overall balance of the rifle felt spot-on.
The Initial Struggle
I grabbed some pellets, eager to get it zeroed in. I’d heard these things were tack drivers, so I was pretty pumped. That’s where things got… interesting.
- Loading:It is recessed lever that keep under the barrel.
- Cocking: It’s an underlever, and honestly, it’s a bit stiff at first. Takes some getting used to. I found a good rhythm after a while, but my arm definitely got a workout!
- First Shots: My groups were all over the place. I mean, all over. I was starting to get a little worried. Was it the pellets? Was it me? Was the rifle just not as accurate as everyone said?
Figuring It Out
I spent a good few hours that first day just trying different pellets, different holds, different breathing techniques. It was frustrating, to say the least. I even cleaned the barrel a couple of times, thinking maybe there was some factory gunk messing things up.
Breakthrough!
Finally, I started to see some improvement. I switched to a heavier pellet, and that seemed to help. Then I realized I was probably overthinking it. I relaxed my grip, focused on my breathing, and really concentrated on a smooth trigger pull. Boom. Tighter groups. Still not perfect, but much better.
Practice Makes Perfect(ish)
Over the next few weeks, I just kept practicing. I put hundreds of pellets through that rifle. I experimented with different shooting positions. I learned how to “feel” the rifle, how to anticipate the recoil, and how to follow through with each shot. It is so smooth when you shot!
The Result
Now? I’m pretty darn happy with it. It’s not going to win any Olympic medals, but I can consistently hit what I’m aiming at. It’s a beautiful, well-built rifle that’s a joy to shoot. It just took a little bit of time, patience, and a whole lot of practice to get there. It feels rock solid, and the build quality is evident in every detail.
