Okay, so today I decided to get off my butt and actually do something. I’ve been meaning to be more active, so I thought, “Why not try some different sports?” I’m calling it my “do play and go sports” day.

Getting Started
First, I brainstormed a few sports I could easily try. No way was I going to suddenly become a pro snowboarder or something. I needed stuff I could do with minimal equipment and, ideally, without looking like a complete idiot.
- Basketball: I have a ball and there’s a hoop at the local park.
- Running: Everyone can run, right? Right…?
- Frisbee: I found an old frisbee in the garage.
Hitting the Park
I packed a bag with my basketball, the frisbee, some water, and a towel (gotta be prepared!). Then, I headed to the park. It was a pretty nice day, not too hot, which was a good start.
I started with basketball. I’m no LeBron, that’s for sure. I spent a good 30 minutes just shooting hoops, dribbling around, and mostly missing. But hey, I was moving! And it was kind of fun, even if I was playing solo.
Next up, the frisbee. I tried throwing it to myself, which is harder than it looks. I chased after it more than I actually caught it. It was more of a frisbee retrieval exercise, really. I managed to get a few decent throws in, though.
Embracing the Run (Sort Of)
Finally, the dreaded run. I decided to just jog around the park’s path. I didn’t go super fast, and I definitely took some walking breaks. But I kept going for about 20 minutes, which is better than nothing! My legs were definitely feeling it by the end.
Wrapping Up
I finished my “sports day” feeling pretty good. Tired, yeah, but also kind of proud of myself for actually doing it. I realized it doesn’t have to be perfect or super intense to count as exercise. Just getting out there and moving is what matters.

I think I’ll try to do this more often. Maybe not every sport, every time, but mixing it up and just having fun with it. That’s the plan, anyway. We’ll see how long I stick with it!
