Okay, so today I decided to give this whole “fitness e-sport” thing a shot. I’ve been seeing it pop up everywhere, and honestly, it looked kind of fun, mixing gaming with actual exercise. I’m not the most athletic person, but I do enjoy video games, so I figured, why not?

Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out what game to try. I knew some require specific equipment, like a VR headset or some fancy bike, but i do not have * I browsed some popular fitness games and chose a simple one to begin.
- Researched fitness games: Spent a good hour just scrolling through options. There are tons!
- Chose a simple game to try It’s basically a rhythm game where you have to punch and kick to the beat of the music. Seemed easy enough.
The Sweaty Part
I started by, well, starting the game. The tutorial was pretty straightforward, showing me the basic moves – jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, and some kicks. I thought, “This is easy!” Famous last words, right?
As soon as the actual music started, things got intense. Fast. I was throwing punches and kicks like a madman, trying to keep up with the beat. After about five minutes, I was already breathing heavily. Ten minutes in, I was sweating buckets. I’m not even kidding, I had to grab a towel.
I pushed myself to finish the first song, and I did it! My score wasn’t great, but I was surprisingly proud of myself. I actually felt like I’d had a decent workout, and it was way more engaging than just going for a jog.
Cool Down and Thoughts
After that, I took a break, drank some water, and caught my breath. My arms and legs were definitely feeling it. It was a weird mix of feeling exhausted and energized at the same time.
I think this whole fitness e-sport thing might actually have some potential. It’s definitely not a replacement for a full gym workout, but it’s a fun way to get your heart rate up and burn some calories, especially if you’re already into gaming.

I’m planning to try it again tomorrow, maybe try a slightly harder song. We’ll see how long I can keep this up, but for now, I’m giving it a thumbs up. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get good at it eventually!
