Today, I wanted to try something different, so I decided to set up a cross net volleyball game. I’ve seen videos of people playing it online, and it looked like a blast. So, I grabbed my stuff and headed out.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed to find a good spot. I went to the local park, hoping for some relatively flat, grassy area. Thankfully, I found a decent-sized space that wasn’t too crowded. Then came the fun part – setting up the net.
Honestly, it was a bit trickier than I expected. The instructions were, uh, not the clearest. But hey, I like a little challenge. I unfolded the net and started connecting the poles. It took some fiddling, and maybe a few moments of “Wait, is this right?”, but I eventually got the frame standing.
Figuring Out the Net
Next up, attaching the net itself. This was a bit like solving a puzzle. I had to make sure the net was evenly distributed and properly secured to the poles. I used the included straps and clips, and after some adjustments, it looked pretty good. Not perfect, but definitely playable.
Game Time!
With the net set up, it was time to find some players. Luckily, a few friends were around and up for a game. We divided into teams and started playing. At first, it was a bit chaotic. We were all trying to get used to the four-way net and the different angles. There were definitely some missed shots and a lot of laughter.
- Some went flying.
- Some fell directly.
- Some hitted perfectly.
Getting the Hang of It
But after a few rounds, we started to get the hang of it. We figured out some basic strategies, like where to position ourselves and how to aim our shots. It’s definitely a fast-paced game, and you have to be ready to move quickly. I even managed to score a few points, which felt pretty awesome.
Wrapping Up
We played for a couple of hours, and by the end, we were all pretty tired but also energized. It was a great workout, and way more fun than just hitting a volleyball back and forth. Taking down the net was a lot easier than setting it up, thankfully. I just disconnected everything, folded it up, and packed it away.

Overall, I’d say my cross net volleyball experiment was a success. It was a fun, active way to spend an afternoon, and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve with the setup, and get ready to move!
