OK, let’s talk about this beach volleyball 3-ball game set, specifically the Strikeball game. I got my hands on one of these a while back, and I’ve had some good times with it, so I figured I’d share my experience.
Getting Started
First off, I ordered this thing online. It came in a pretty standard box, nothing fancy. Unpacking it was straightforward – you’ve got the net, the frame, the balls, and some instructions. The frame is made of this bright yellow plastic, so it’s hard to miss. I laid everything out on the grass in my backyard to get a good look at it.
Setting Up
Setting it up was the next step. The instructions were clear enough, but honestly, it’s pretty intuitive. You just snap the frame pieces together, and then you stretch the net over it. It took me maybe 10 minutes to get it all assembled. The net has these little hooks that attach to the frame, which is a nice touch because it keeps everything tight.
Playing the Game
- Gather some friends. This game is way more fun with more people. We had four of us, which is the recommended number, but you could probably play with just two.
- Find a good spot. We set up on the beach, which is ideal, but you could play in a park or a backyard too. Just make sure you’ve got enough space to move around.
- Serve the ball. One person starts by serving the ball onto the net. It’s kind of like volleyball, but instead of hitting it over a net, you’re bouncing it off this circular net in the middle.
- Take turns hitting the ball. After the serve, each team gets up to three hits to get the ball back onto the net. You can use any part of your body, just like in volleyball.
- Keep the rally going. This is where it gets fun. The rallies can get pretty intense, with people diving and jumping all over the place.
- Score points. You score a point when the other team fails to return the ball onto the net. The game usually goes to 21 points, but you can adjust that if you want.
My Thoughts
After playing a few rounds, I was pretty hooked. It’s a simple game, but it’s a lot of fun, and it’s a great workout. We were all sweating and laughing by the end of it. It’s definitely something I’ll be bringing out for beach days and BBQs from now on. Plus, it’s easy to pack up and take with you, which is a big plus. I disassembled the whole thing, tossed it back in the bag, and it was good to go.
If you’re looking for a fun, active game to play outdoors, I’d say give this Strikeball game a try. It’s a good time, and it’s a nice change of pace from your usual beach games.
