Okay, so, I’ve been trying to get into this volleyball thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I stumbled upon this club called Vienna Elite Volleyball Club, and I thought, “Why not?” So, I decided to dive right in.

First things first, I went to their tryouts. I saw on some site that they’re part of this USAV Chesapeake (CHRVA) Region thing, whatever that means. They were holding tryouts for girls aged U11 to U14 for the 2024-2025 season. Sounded intense! I found the registration process was through the SportsEngine, whatever that is, I followed the steps, and I registered. It was like a maze, with all these sections – welcome, information, registration options, review, confirmation. I mean, I get it, they need all the details, but it felt a bit overwhelming for a newbie like me.
The Tryout Day
The day of the tryouts arrived. I showed up, and it was quite the scene. There were so many girls, all skilled and ready to show their best. I heard they were going to pick around 13 to 15 players for the U15/16 team, covering all positions. I’m not gonna lie; I felt a bit out of my league. But I gave it my best shot, played my heart out, and tried to remember all the drills and tips I’d been frantically practicing.
Finding More Info
After the tryouts, I was curious to know more about the club. I did some digging and found that they host tournaments all over the place – like, they call it the “DMV area.” Apparently, that’s some slang for the region. I saw names like Rockville Sportsplex, The Virginia Volleyball Factory in Manassas, and The Nzone in Chantilly. These places sound like serious business, definitely not your average community center gym.
I also found out that Vienna Elite is not just in Vienna. They have a location in Sterling too, which is interesting. I guess they’re trying to spread their volleyball empire or something.
Livestreams and Highlights
One cool thing I discovered is that they have livestreams and highlights of their games. You can watch them somewhere online. I watched a few, and man, these girls are good! It’s kind of inspiring, you know? Makes me want to push myself harder. But it’s also a bit intimidating because the level of play is so high.
Wrapping Up
So, that’s my little adventure with Vienna Elite Volleyball Club so far. It’s been a mix of excitement, nerves, and a whole lot of learning. I’m still not sure if I’ll make the team, but hey, I tried. And I got to see what this whole “elite volleyball” world is all about. It’s definitely a different level of commitment and skill. I’ve got a newfound respect for these athletes.
