So, I’ve been on this whole watch thing lately, right? And I stumbled upon this brand, Orient. Apparently, these guys have been around since like, forever. I mean, we’re talking 1901! That’s when the founder started messing around with pocket watches. It wasn’t until 1934 that they actually made their own watch, under some name, Toyo Tokei Manufacturing, or something like that.
Anyway, I dug a bit deeper. Everyone seems to be raving about Orient, especially if you’re looking for a decent automatic watch without, you know, selling a kidney. I always thought Seiko was the only way to go if you wanted something solid and affordable, and they are, but Orient is apparently a real contender in that space. They’re all about those entry-level automatic watches, and people really seem to love them.
My Deep Dive
I spent a good chunk of my weekend just browsing through forums and reviews. I found that the Orient Sport collection gets a lot of love. There was plenty to look through and choose from in terms of design and price. I ultimately decided to go with the Orient Kamasu. I just really loved the look, and the specs were great for the price.
- Ordering: I found one online, and it was a pretty smooth process, I must say. No hassles, just a few clicks, and bam, order placed. It arrived faster than I had expected!
- Unboxing: Okay, this was exciting. The watch came in a neat little box, nothing too fancy, but it felt good. The watch looked amazing, and the blue dial was perfect.
- Wearing it: I’ve been wearing this thing for a few days now, and I’m really digging it. It’s comfortable, it looks great with pretty much anything I wear, and it keeps time like a champ. I mean, I’m not timing it down to the millisecond or anything, but it’s definitely accurate enough for my daily needs.
Final Thoughts
So, yeah, that’s my Orient adventure so far. I bought a watch from the Orient Sport collection, and I am really happy with it. It’s a solid, good-looking watch that didn’t break the bank. I am still getting acquainted with it, but if you’re thinking about getting into automatic watches, I’d say give Orient a shot. They seem to know what they’re doing, and they’ve been doing it for a long, long time.
