Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with some basketball stats lately, specifically from the game between the ASU Sun Devils and the USC Trojans. It’s kinda fun to see what I can do with this stuff, and I thought I’d share my little project with you guys.

First off, I started by looking up the dates when these two teams played each other. Found a couple of games on January 20th, 2024 and March 7th, 2024. That gave me a good starting point. Then I was like, “Okay, where can I find the actual scores and player stats?”
So, I went digging around the internet. Turns out, there are these “official box scores” that have all the details. They even mention a “Ticket Office Game Day Central Mobile” thing, but I didn’t really need that. I just wanted the numbers.
After I gathered all these box scores, I started to put the information together. This was a big time to see some names pop up more than others. For example, one time I saw Jose Perez scored 20 points, and Frankie Collins and Jamiya Neal each had 17 for Arizona State. They beat USC 82-67, and apparently, that ended some losing streak for them. Pretty cool, huh?
I also noticed that the USC Trojans have a pretty decent history in basketball. They’ve won a lot of games and have had some famous players. It says they’ve had 25 All-Americans and made it to the big tournament 16 times. They even made it to the “Final Four” twice. Not bad!
Here is some important information that I found:
- Players to Watch: For USC, there were these guys, Player A and Player B, who seemed to be doing pretty well. And for ASU, it was Player C. It’s always interesting to see who the key players are.
- Game Results: In the games I looked at, sometimes USC won, sometimes ASU did. It’s like any other sport, you never really know who’s gonna win.
Reflecting on the Results
Putting all this together, I realized that these games, like the one where ASU won 82-67, were a mix of good teamwork and some players just having really good games. It’s not just about the numbers, but also how the teams work together.

You know, it’s kinda like putting together a puzzle. Each player’s stats are a piece, and when you put them all together, you get the full picture of the game. It’s pretty neat to see how it all comes together.
This whole thing got me thinking about how much goes into these games. It’s not just about throwing a ball around. There’s a lot of strategy and teamwork. And for us fans, it’s fun to dive into these stats and see what’s what.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with the ASU vs. USC basketball stats. It was fun to play around with the data and see what I could learn. Maybe next, I’ll look into some other teams or sports. Who knows!
