Okay, so, I’ve been diving deep into this whole 2025 WNBA Mock Draft thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started off just casually browsing, you know, seeing what the buzz was about after that insane rookie season we just witnessed.
I started with checking out who were going to be the main players in the draft. I saw the name Paige Bueckers. A lot of people say she’s going to be the No. 1 overall pick.
Then, I dug a little deeper. I went through a bunch of different mock drafts from all these so-called “experts” and websites. I made a huge table, just to keep track of everything. You wouldn’t believe the differences in opinions! Some had certain players way up high, others had them dropping like stones. It’s crazy how much speculation goes into this. And players like Olivia Miles and Kiki Iriafen are talked a lot about.
- First, I picked a team to focus on, let’s say the Chicago Sky. They won the third pick, apparently. So, I started looking at their roster, their needs, and who might be available at that spot.
- Then, I started matching players to teams. I’d look at a player’s strengths and weaknesses, and try to figure out which team would be the best fit. It’s like a big puzzle.
I spent hours, days even, on this. Reading articles, watching highlights, comparing stats. I even started getting into the over/under win projections. It’s like, how is this even decided? Who knows.
But you know what? It’s actually pretty fun. It’s like being a general manager, but without any of the real pressure. I made up my own mock draft. Of course, it’s probably completely wrong, but it’s my take on it. It feels good to have an opinion, even if it’s just for fun.

What I Learned
This whole process taught me a lot about the WNBA, the players, and the whole draft process. It’s way more complicated than I thought. There are so many factors that go into it, and so much can change between now and the actual draft. But that’s what makes it interesting, right?
