Well, folks, today I’m gonna share my little adventure with creating a depth chart for the Golden State Warriors. It’s something I’ve been tinkering with, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride!
So, I started by looking up some stuff online. Just a simple search to see what’s already out there about the Warriors’ depth chart for the 2024-25 season. I found a few things, some on ESPN and some on CBSSports. I mean, who doesn’t check these sites for sports news, right? They had these lists of players, starters, backups, and all that jazz. But they were kinda basic, you know? Nothing too fancy. I wanted to make something a little more… me.
Then, I stumbled upon this name, Trayce Jackson-Davis, or “TJD” as some folks call him. Born in 2000, apparently. That got me thinking about the ages of these players and how long they’ve been around. It’s crazy to see how these young guys are taking over!
I began jotting down names, positions, trying to get a feel for who’s who on the team. I used a regular text editor. I noted down the starters, the second-string guys, and even those who are likely to get fewer minutes. It felt like putting together a puzzle, trying to figure out how each piece fits. I putted the basic info on my editor first.
After compiling the basic information, I tried to use some simple HTML tags to format it nicely. Used <p> for paragraphs, <strong> for highlighting important names, and <ul> for listing players in each position. Like this:
-
Point Guards:
-
Player A
-
Player B
-
And so on for other positions. It started to look like a proper depth chart, something you’d see on a coach’s clipboard or something. I also noticed some info about the team’s offensive and defensive ratings. Off Rtg was 112.5, and Def Rtg was 106.9. And get this, their expected win-loss record was 55-27! Not too shabby, huh?
And lastly, I added their preseason odds for winning the championship, which was +900. I’m no betting man, but those are some interesting numbers to look at.
In the end, I realized making a depth chart is not just about listing names. It’s about understanding the team’s dynamics, their strengths, and weaknesses. It’s a fun little project for any basketball fan. And hey, if you’re ever bored, give it a try! It’s a neat way to get more into the game.
