Okay, let’s talk about my basketball day. I decided to hit the court and work on my game, inspired by Colin Widrick. I’m no pro, but I love the sport and wanted to share my little practice session.

First off, I made a plan. No aimless wandering for me. I wrote down what I wanted to focus on: dribbling, shooting, and a bit of defense. Simple stuff, really.
- Dribbling: I started with some basic drills. Up and down the court, switching hands, trying not to look at the ball. Felt clumsy at first, like a baby giraffe, but I got into a rhythm after a while.
- Shooting: Next up, free throws. I lined up, took a deep breath, and tried to remember all those tips I’d read online. Swish, brick, swish, brick… It was a mixed bag, but hey, I was having fun. Then I moved on to some jump shots from different spots. More bricks, but a few went in, which felt great.
- Defense: This is where I really feel like a fish out of water. I tried shuffling my feet, keeping my arms out, and staying low. I imagined an opponent in front of me and tried to react. Probably looked ridiculous, but I was working up a sweat.
I also made sure I was eating right. Lots of fruits and veggies throughout the day to get those vitamins and minerals. I had some chicken and brown rice for lunch – gotta keep those energy levels up, you know? Eggs for breakfast, a banana as a snack… I tried to keep it healthy and balanced. No junk food for this aspiring baller!
What I Achieved
After a couple of hours, I was tired but felt good. I wouldn’t say I’m suddenly the next LeBron James, but I definitely felt like I improved a little. My dribbling was a bit smoother, my shots were a tad more consistent, and I felt a little more confident on defense. Plus, it was a great workout. Most importantly, I realized how important it is to practice regularly, reflect on what works and what doesn’t, and just keep at it. And I got to enjoy the game I love. Not a bad way to spend a day, right?
So, that was my Colin Widrick-inspired basketball practice. Nothing fancy, just a guy trying to get better at a game he loves. Hope you enjoyed my little story. Maybe it’ll inspire you to pick up a ball and shoot some hoops yourself!
