Alright, so the other day I was messing around, trying to come up with a cool name for my fantasy football team. I’m a huge Baltimore Ravens fan, so I definitely wanted something related to them. Let me tell you, it’s harder than it looks!
First, I started by just brainstorming anything that came to mind when I thought about the Ravens. You know, obvious stuff like “Ravens,” “Baltimore,” “Edgar Allan Poe,” and players’ names like “Lamar Jackson.” I jotted them all down on a piece of paper – yeah, I’m old school like that.
Then, I spent a good chunk of time just staring at that list, trying to see if anything jumped out at me. I tried to combine words, make some silly rhymes, the whole nine yards. Nothing felt quite right, though. They were all too plain, too boring.
So, I decided to hit up the internet. I figured there had to be some Ravens fans out there who were way more creative than me. I typed “Ravens fantasy football team names” into Google and, bam, tons of articles and forum threads popped up.
I started clicking through, and browsed a bunch of lists. Some of the names were pretty funny, I gotta admit. I saw a few that played on Lamar Jackson’s name, like “Lamarican Gangster” and “Super Lamario World.” Those were alright, but not exactly what I was looking for. Then I found some names that referred to the team’s name origin, like those related to Edgar Allan Poe’s poem “The Raven.” They were clever, but again, not really my style.
I kept digging, and I realized that a lot of people like to use player names as a starting point. You take a player’s name and try to make a pun or a funny phrase out of it. That seemed like a good idea, so I went back to my original list and started playing around with some of the current players’ names.
After a while, and probably too many bad puns, I finally landed on a few that I actually liked. For example, I found “Tuck Rule” to be interesting, but it’s been used by too many people and not so related to Ravens. Eventually I came up with a name “Zay’s Anatomy” (Zay Flowers, you know). I was pretty proud of that one.

It was a fun little project, even though it took way longer than I expected. I’m still not 100% sure which name I’ll use, but I have a few good options now. If any of you guys have any other suggestions, let me know! Maybe we can even start a whole thread for Ravens-themed fantasy team names. It would be pretty cool, right?
