Okay, so I was messing around online, trying to come up with a fun fantasy football team name, yeah? And since I’m a huge Chicago Bears fan, I wanted something related to them. I spent a good chunk of my evening on this, believe it or not.
First, I started by just brainstorming, writing down anything that came to mind. You know, stuff like “Da Bears,” “Soldier Field,” basic things like that. I felt a little stupid, but hey, you gotta start somewhere, right?
Then, I started looking online, and man, there’s a ton of stuff out there! I found some websites with lists of names. Some were pretty good, some were… well, not so much. I saw names like “Windy City Maulers,” which I thought was pretty cool, it’s like, tough sounding, you know? And there was also “Monsters of the Midway,” which is a classic.
After that, I started thinking about the team’s history. I remembered that the team used to be called the Staleys, and they moved to Wrigley Field, where the Cubs play. The Bears name is like, a nod to the Cubs, since baby bears are called cubs. That’s a neat little fact I didn’t know before!
I also learned about Staley Da Bear, the team’s mascot. He seems like a fun dude. Maybe I could use his name in my team name somehow?
I started combining some of these ideas, trying to make something unique. Here’s what I scribbled down in my notebook:
- Staley’s Maulers
- Wrigley Field Warriors
- Windy City Cubs
- Monsters of Wrigley
Honestly, I’m still not 100% sure which one I like best. “Staley’s Maulers” sounds kind of tough, but is it too cheesy? “Monsters of Wrigley” is kind of cool, but does it make sense since they don’t play at Wrigley anymore? I wrote so much I think my hand’s gonna fall off.
I guess I’ll sleep on it and decide later. It’s harder than it looks, coming up with a good team name! If anyone’s got any suggestions, let me know. I am all ears. Or should I say all bears!
To Be Continued…
I ended up with some cool names, but it was a whole process, let me tell you!
