Yo, listen up, you young’uns! Today, I’m gonna tell ya ’bout this thing, this PSP volleyball game. It’s like, you know, them games you play on that little gadget. Yeah, that one. I ain’t no good with these newfangled things, but my grandkids, they’re all over it. They say it’s the cat’s meow! This PSP thing, it’s got all sorts of games. I saw one about a dude with a funny headband, jumpin’ and shootin’. I told him to get a haircut and stop making trouble! But this, this volleyball game, it’s somethin’ else.
So, this PSP volleyball game, it’s like that game they play on the beach, with the net and all. You got these girls, jumpin’ around, hittin’ the ball. My old bones ache just watchin’ ’em! They say it’s like a tropical island. I wish I’d been on an island, or any trip in my life! I guess it’s some kinda sports game, you know. Like that soccer they play, or that basketball. My grandson, he’s always dribblin’ that basketball. Drives me up the wall with all that thumpin’!
Now, they say to win this game, you gotta get to 25 points. And you gotta win by two. Like, if it’s 24 to 24, you gotta keep goin’ till someone gets two more points. Makes sense, I guess. Don’t want no ties in volleyball, I suppose. It’s like that time old man Johnson and me were arm wrestlin’. We went on for an hour, neither of us givin’ in! Finally, I let him win. He was gettin’ all red in the face. This PSP thing, it is very popular.
They tell me you gotta win three of these, uh, “sets,” they call ’em. Three sets to win the whole shebang. Sounds like a lot of jumpin’ and divin’ to me. I’d rather be sittin’ on my porch, sippin’ sweet tea. But these kids today, they love this stuff. They say there are lots of these volleyball video games. Some old ones, some new ones. All kinds of ways to play, I reckon. Even on that big ol’ game thing, you know, the one that’s as big as a breadbox!
This volleyball, they say it started a long, long time ago. Back in, uh, 1895. That’s before even my time! Some fella named William, in a place called Massachusetts. He made it up. They called it “mintonette” back then. Sounds silly, don’t it? Like some kinda fancy food. I guess it was a humble beginning, for such a big sport. They love it, you know, that volleyball game.
So this PSP volleyball game, seems it has a lot of little games inside it. Like, you go to this island and play with these, uh, “heroines,” they call ’em. Whatever that means. Sounds like somethin’ out of a comic book to me. I used to read them comics when I was a little girl. The ones with the cowboys and the Indians. Good times, good times.
- You gotta get 25 points to win a set.
- You gotta win by 2 points.
- You gotta win 3 sets to win the whole match.
- It’s like a tropical island, they say.
- Lots of jumpin’ and divin’.
They say there’s other games on this PSP thing, too. Shoot ’em ups, adventure games, all sorts. Like that Final Fantasy thing, or that Ghost of Sparta. Sounds spooky, don’t it? My grandson he likes to shoot in these games. I tell him, “Boy, you better not be shootin’ at anything in real life!” These kids today, always with their faces glued to these screens. Back in my day, we played outside! We played hopscotch and jump rope, and we didn’t need no fancy gadgets to have fun. We had, you know, this volleyball thing, but in real, with friends and families.
Anyway, this PSP volleyball game, it seems like a big deal to these young’uns. They sure do love their video games. I guess it’s a good way to keep ’em outta trouble. At least they ain’t runnin’ around in the streets, gettin’ into mischief. They’re just sittin’ there, tappin’ away at those buttons. I don’t understand it, but as long as they’re happy, I guess that’s all that matters. I just hope they don’t forget how to play outside, in the real world. That’s where the real fun is, if you ask me. This is what they say sports games are, huh?
I still prefer a good ol’ fashioned game of checkers, myself. But hey, to each their own, right? As long as they’re havin’ fun and stayin’ outta trouble, that’s all that matters. This PSP thing is so popular, even more than my needle point work! Maybe I should learn how to play this volleyball game. Nah, who am I kiddin’? My old bones can’t handle all that jumpin’ around. I’ll just stick to my rocking chair and my sweet tea, thank you very much!
