Okay, here’s my attempt at writing a blog post in the style you requested, focusing on “Spike Volleyball EB Games”:

So, I was looking for something new to play, something sporty but, you know, indoors. I’d seen “Spike Volleyball” pop up in the ‘coming soon’ section at EB Games a while back, and it finally dropped. Figured I’d give it a shot.
First thing I did was head down to my local EB. It’s usually pretty chill, and the staff know their stuff. I grabbed a copy off the shelf – PS4 version, because that’s my jam. Paid for it, no dramas, usual friendly checkout chat.
Getting Started (And Getting Confused)
Got home, ripped off the plastic – always a satisfying moment – and popped the disc in. The game booted up, went through the usual install stuff, and then… the menus. Oh boy.
It’s not, like, bad, but it’s definitely not the most intuitive thing. There are a bunch of modes: quick match, career, some online stuff. I spent a good ten minutes just poking around, trying to figure out where everything was.
- Quick Match: Exactly what it sounds like.
- Career: You make a player, build a team, the whole nine yards.
- Online: Haven’t tried this yet, bit nervous.
I decided to start with a quick match. Just wanted to jump in and see how it played. Picked a couple of random teams – I think one was Brazil, the other… I can’t even remember. Doesn’t matter.
Spiking, Blocking, and Button Mashing
The actual gameplay? It’s… interesting. It’s not super arcade-y, but it’s also not a hardcore simulation. The controls took some getting used to. There’s a button for setting, one for spiking, one for blocking, and you gotta time everything just right. My first few attempts were… comical. Lots of missed spikes, balls flying out of bounds, the works.

But after a few games, I started to get the hang of it. I managed to pull off a few decent spikes, even a couple of blocks. It felt pretty good when I timed it right and absolutely smashed the ball down. There’s a definite learning curve, but it’s rewarding when you start to figure it out.
My Verdict (So Far)
I am not sure if I can recommend to my friend.
I played for a couple of hours, and I’m still on the fence. It’s not a bad game, but it’s not amazing either. The graphics are okay, the gameplay is challenging but a bit clunky, and the menus are confusing. I’ll probably keep playing it for a bit, see if it grows on me. Maybe try out the career mode, see if that’s any better.
That’s it. That’s the whole story of my experience, I hope it’s helpful to someone, haha!
