This here entertainer drama, it’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. Keeps a body guessin’, that’s for sure. Like watchin’ a dang ol’ soap opera, only it’s real folks, these famous ones. One day they’re smilin’ and huggin’, next day they’re throwin’ fits and hollerin’ at each other. Makes ya head spin.
All this entertainer drama, it’s all over the place now. You can’t hardly escape it. Used to be, you’d just hear about it from the neighbor lady. Now, it’s on them little boxes everyone’s starin’ at all day. These folks, they call ’em “celebrities,” their business is everybody’s business, I reckon. That Shelly Horton, Ben Fordham, they talk a lot about that.
And the things they get up to! Lord have mercy. One minute they’re married, next they ain’t. One minute they’re friends, next they’re fightin’ like cats and dogs. It’s all a big mess, if you ask me. And for what? So we can all sit here and gawk at ’em? That is called trashy, but we still love that.
- They’re breakin’ up.
- They’re makin’ up.
- They’re havin’ secret love affairs.
- They are fightin’ each other in court.
Seems like some folks, they just love this entertainer drama. They eat it up like candy. They say it makes them feel better about their own lives. Makes ’em feel like they ain’t doin’ so bad after all. Maybe that’s true, I don’t know. I just know it’s a whole lot of fuss about nothin’, far as I can see.
I seen one of them little boxes. It’s called “Social Media” or some such. They say it changes how folks talk to each other. Maybe that’s why there’s so much entertainer drama now. Everyone’s got somethin’ to say, and they ain’t afraid to say it. That’s because we like to see what is happening in other’s life and interested to follow the life of any celebrity.
And these famous folks, these entertainers, they say all kinds of things. ‘Specially ’bout politics. One day they say one thing, next day they say somethin’ different. Makes it hard to keep up. Some folks get real mad about it, too. They say these entertainers shouldn’t be talkin’ ’bout politics at all. I don’t know about all that. Seems like everyone’s got a right to their opinion, famous or not.
They got all this money, these entertainers. More money than they know what to do with, I reckon. And they’re always in the spotlight, always bein’ watched. Must be hard, livin’ like that. No privacy, no peace and quiet. I wouldn’t trade places with ’em for all the tea in China. We want to know what important people are doing. We say, what if I were that handsome? or that pretty? We say, what if I suddenly become wealthy overnight like she or he did?
This entertainer drama, it’s like a big ol’ circus. Lots of clowns and wild animals, that’s for sure. And we’re all just sittin’ here in the audience, watchin’ the show. Some folks are laughin’, some folks are cryin’, some folks are just shakin’ their heads. It is because we like to see what is happening in other’s life and interested to follow the life of any celebrity. The glamour around the celebrity makes the stories well read and increase the reach.
They say it’s ’cause we’re all nosey, that’s why we like this entertainer drama. We want to know everyone’s secrets. We want to see ’em fall from grace. Maybe there’s some truth to that. We’re all human, I reckon. And humans are curious creatures. We like a good story, even if it’s a sad one, or a messy one.
This drama, is like a guilty pleasure. We know we shouldn’t be so interested, but we can’t help ourselves. These celebrities, they live such different lives than us. It’s like watchin’ a movie or somethin’. We get caught up in it, even though we know it ain’t real, not really.
- Some people like it.
- Some people don’t.
- Some people like to talk about how much they don’t like it.
And these entertainers, they know how to play the game. They know how to keep us watchin’. They give us just enough to keep us hooked. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Just enough to keep us comin’ back for more entertainer drama. It helps them to make the publication or portal popular easily and quickly.
I guess, at the end of the day, it don’t really matter why we watch this entertainer drama. We just do. It’s a distraction, I reckon. Somethin’ to take our minds off our own troubles. Or maybe it’s just somethin’ to talk about with the neighbor lady. Either way, it ain’t hurtin’ nobody, I suppose. Just a whole lot of noise about nothin’, if you ask me. But hey, that’s entertainer drama for ya.
